Post Age

A trip to Cambridge just before Christmas and we found bulging post boxes being emptied. The postman claimed that his name was ‘Pat’. He wished the children a Merry Christmas and went on his way to the next post box (sometimes called pillar box).

It was only when inspecting this photo that I realised that the postbox on the left is marked ‘GR’ and on the right ‘ER’. Two monarchs side by side, post mail age. George and Elizabeth. Pillar to post.
