Zoë painted and glued a new angel for the top of the Christmas tree. We got one of those Norway trees in a pot with some of the roots still on. I doubt if we can keep it alive. We had one before and we lost all the pine needles before 12th night.

I felt compelled to say something about strange phone experiences. The most recent was a call from an old friend, who phoned while staying with another old friend. It seems they used one of those phones that allows the voice to heard through the base rather than the handset. More significant, is the fact that the base includes a microphone, so the caller(s) do not need to hold the handset to a mouth /ear!
So there was I, with a phone to my ear, listening to 2 friends in a room conversing with each other and me. I felt uneasy; who else was in the room; was that a cat I heard meiowing; how far away is friend 1 from friend 2? By hearing them in a room, my imagination was stimulated much more than a normal phone conversation.

We’ve had goldfish since Zoë’s 3rd birthday and we still have them. Not the same fish of course. Several have died. My fault entirely. It turned out I didn’t clean the aquarium out often enough. Actually, it could have been that they were over fed and polluted their own tank. We have a biorb tank now. Excellent. A large volume of water, in a sphere, with a light.:
